Our Vision

The vision is Jesus.  Undeniably, unapologetically, wholeheartedly Jesus.  He is our means and our end.  We are nine people who have tasted and seen that He is good, and we are ruined for wasting our lives on something less than the Better Way.  We are anxious to see what He will do with a group of normal people who are unified and wholeheartedly committed to the ways of His Kingdom.  We are willing to do anything or go anywhere He calls us to.

Right now, we do not know exactly what all of this will play out to be.  We are trying to be faithful with the little we have been given.  We want to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church and work that out in whatever context we end up finding ourselves in. We want to be a part of His Kingdom coming to Earth and His will being done on Earth as it is in Heaven.  That will define success in this vision.

Whatever our model, location, or circumstances look like will be born out of that high, idealistic pursuit.  We believe, like Jesus said, that He will build His Church.  We want to get in on that type of Church planting.  We will fast, pray, hold tightly to the Bible, and be obedient to his prophetic word to this generation.  And this will be life and breath and joy to our souls.  It will be hard and messy and painful.  It will be good.  An adventure of faith.

We hope it will be simple and holistic in nature.  We don’t want Sundays to be more sacred than Mondays.  We want to plant gardens, give away our cars to single mothers, make disciples, learn how to fix busted water-heaters and whittle on the front porch with friends.  We want to live in a community close enough to cause daily frustration, and therefore, daily sanctification.  We want to adopt kids and let our faith work itself out in love.  We want to be ministers of reconciliation. To be good citizens, while knowing where our ultimate citizenship lies. We long to lose our lives in hope of finding true life, and worship the Father in every aspect of our beings.

A primary motivation in starting this blog was to keep those who are interested in our pursuit of this vision up to date on how it unfolds. Our hope is that this site does just that, and provides direction for you as you pray for us. We covet your prayers.
