Things Are Better When Shared – 4.0

[The following is an email that D.O. sent to his friends and family on 07.16.10]

Short Version: We’ve finally moved into our house, we all have jobs, and God is way too good to us. The house has an address, but you’ll have to read the awesome version to find it. Pray that the Lord continues to bless us as we build relationships.

Awesome Version: Two days ago we were squatters in the furnitureless house of an out-of-town Resonate staff member. Today I’m typing as this email as an employed, rent-paying resident of an absolutely beautiful, 5 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom house just north of downtown Moscow, ID. The Father’s provision is enough to blow a man’s mind.

Yesterday, just after 5:00pm, we were sitting among piles and piles of cardboard boxes we’d spent the previous eight hours moving into our new house, and I overheard Mackenzie talking about specifics of a job she’d just been offered over the phone. She was saying things about working for WSU’s on campus bookstore, getting textbooks ready for the slew of students who will be arriving in mere months. Literally the moment she finished explaining her new job, I received a phone call during which I was offered the same job. I took it.

So in one day, I got both a house, and a job. Thank you Jesus.

If you’d like to pray for us, please ask that the Lord would continue to give us unity with one another, and favor in building relationships with new coworkers and such. The guys on our team have been spending a lot of time at the University of Idaho’s climbing wall, where we’ve met a lot of people, many of whom are influential in Moscow’s outdoor community. We’re thankful for these new relationships, and we ask for the Father’s heart and the Father’s eyes as we continue to get to know these guys. We’re asking for persons of peace. Please agree with us in that request.

[At this point, in the actual email, I shared our address. I’m not doing that on this blog. If you want it, contact one of us.]

Love you guys,

D.O.
