Things Are Better When Shared – 3.0

[The following is an email that D.O. sent to his friends and family, his friends’ friends, and friends’ families on 07.05.10]

If you’re new to this list, then know these are updates on the church plant that the Father is letting Colby and Mackenzie Ivey, Derrick Oliver, be a part of in the Northwest. There may be a website/blog in the not-too-distant future, but now, you get this. Welcome.

Short Version:
We’ve arrived safely. We have a house, but we can’t move in quite yet. We do have a place to crash, though. Also, summers everywhere should feel like summers here.

Awesome Version: I’m writing this email from a coffee shop in Pullman, WA. Not ten feet from me sit the lovely Ivey’s. We arrived yesterday evening just in time to celebrate America’s birthday in our new community. Thanks to the northwest’s cool summer nights, we were all wearing pants and long-sleeved shirts, a welcome change from the relentless heat of The Republic.

No doubt a result of your petitions to the Father, we have secured a house for ourselves in Moscow, ID (8 miles east of Pullman)! There does exist a small catch, however, in that we aren’t able to actually move into the house until the 15th. We can store our belongings in its garage, but the current residents won’t be out — and therefore we won’t be in — until that date. The Father, in his sovereignty and providence, knew this was going to be the case, and He provided us a place to stay in the meantime: one of Resonate’s staff members is out of town for these 10 days, and we are house sitting/bumming at his place until the Ides of July. Such a blessing.

Thank you all for your prayers. So much. We covet them. If you have any questions, please let me know.
